Together since 2004, Sam Liu, and Tony Sato represent the unique and thriving partnership behind Miyagi Bar & Sushi.
Sam, the General Manager, has been with Miyagi since its start and is often considered the original face of Miyagi. “[Sam's] smile is the first thing you see as you walk in,” says Jodi P. of Carmichael. “I love to see the customers we have. It makes my job easier and something to look forward to,” explains Sam.
With the fresh fish delivered daily, Executive Sushi Chef Tony, crafts his original sushi fare with care and patience. Inspired by his nearly forty years of experience as a sushi chef, Tony's creativity reveals itself in the delicacies and treats he creates for Miyagi's guests. Celebrated as a pioneer for introducing fresh techniques to the world of Sacramento sushi, many notable executive chefs have worked with and learned from Tony. “I’ve been doing sushi here in Sacramento for a very long time. I have seen many changes in sushi here, some for better, some for worse.”
